How To Change the World
This morning, I saw a tweet about Saddleback’s online campus. For those who are unaware, Saddleback church was created by Rick Warren using his amazing church model, which is wrote about in his book Purpose Driven Church which now is an official ministry of Saddleback Church and actually has its own website with awesome content. I clicked the link and listened to Rick’s Sermon, which I LOVED!
Here are seven lessons I tweeted as I watched:
- I must learn 2 care 4 my family. How? Love pays attention, provides 4 needs, gives emotional support.
- The husband is called 2 lead through SACRIFICING the most… should lay down his life 4 wife.
- I must treat other believers as my family. Blood is thicker than water. Spirit is thicker than blood.
- God called older adults 2 mentor 2 the younger generation. Young adults r called 2 care 4 elders.
- I must see other’s pain even when I’m in pain. Have an attitude of selflessness, just as Christ!
- Don’t wallow n pain. USE IT! When u r n suffering, sin loses its power. Pray 4 one another. Refocus!
- I must meet other’s needs even when mine aren’t met. In this, we learn how to purely love.
I enjoyed the sermon because its key points touched on a lot of the very basic focal issues that could change our entire society if we would only concentrate our energy on them. A very simple act would make a world of difference: watching out for one another instead of always being out for number one… getting back to the intended hierarchy of God –> man –> woman –> children –> family –> community. If you follow me on Twitter, you have probably seen a couple of tweets lately about my ministry, StepInFaith, getting prepared for a new Bible study series as well as a revamping of our More Than Conquerors meeting which was previously presented as a teleconference. If you would like to keep up with the concepts we cover in both of these areas, you can keep watch for the hashtag #JesusLesson and follow @stepinfaith on Twitter!
